Thermal Energy Storage Tanks are designed to store thermal energy in systems using either non-renewable or renewable energy sources. Either of these energy sources can be used in systems which store thermal energy at off peak times and then use the stored energy at peak times. Whether storing non-renewable thermal energy at off peak times when electricity rates are lower to use the stored thermal energy when rates are higher or by storing renewable energy during periods when the renewable is delivering energy to be used when the renewable is not delivering energy.
Thermal Energy Storage Tanks are used in data centers and other mission critical applications to provide a buffer of cooling that can be used to cool the data center (or building) in the event of failure or disruption to the primary cooling system.
The Cemline TES storage tank is designed with internal sparge tube with diffusers located at the top and bottom of the vessel. The internal sparge tubes are closed end internal pipe with holes to diffuse water entering and exiting the vessel. The water entering and exiting the vessel have reduced velocity and allow for temperature stratification within the vessel by preventing the jet flow and mixing within the tank that would occur with standard inlets and outlets at the top and bottom of the vessel.
